3/2S and 3C made and programmed birds that made a flapping sound when the tilt sensor on their wings was in a horizontal position. When the head was down in an eating position the motion sensor detected the beak and made a tweeting sound. Students then researched a bird of their choice and made appropriate modifications so their bird resembled the one they studied. Fast workers created habitats for their robotic birds.
Watch the video below showing how 2 pairs of very advanced students created a way of making the bird’s wings move using a motor. I was thrilled to bits when I saw what they had done…well done boys.
