2CT and 2R made a ride for Sam and Sara. The challenge was to design and make a ride that was capable of holding two people. Using different gear combinations, the task was to:

Make both of the riders  move as slowly as possible,

Both riders move as fast as possible.

Riders go in opposite directions.

Then, Sam and Saras mum’s car broke down, so the students had to design and make a new car for  mother.  They easily built these, but unfortunately the cars were unable to move up the steep hill getting to the ride.  Launchers were built so the cars could be propelled up the inclined plane. Student had to measure the distance their car travelled when they launched the car up the ramp.  There were two launchers with different sized axles. 2R and 2CT experimented to see which was the best.
