Year 2 designed and made a seasaw and investigated ‘balance’ and levers.   What creates balance??  Equal weight on both sides you say – yes as long a both  weights are the same distance from the pivot point.  Year 2 investigated how to have a ‘balanced seasaw’ when people were different weights and when there were odd numbers of children who wanted to play.  Ask them how they achieved the ‘perfect balance’.
